Massachusetts insurance licensing exam prep

Study for Massachusetts's Life and Accident, Health or Sickness exams against Pearson VUE's real blueprints.

Massachusetts has no combined Life & Health exam: the Life Producer exam and the Accident, Health or Sickness Producer exam are each their own fully separate, 90-question Pearson VUE exam (80 scored + 10 pretest). LicensePath maps every category on both real blueprints, whichever line (or both) you're licensing for.

Neither official Pearson VUE document discloses a time limit in minutes for either exam — Pearson's own Massachusetts candidate materials say the time is shown only at registration. Both exams pair one 50-question national "General Knowledge" section with one 30-question Massachusetts-specific section under a single exam heading, the same two-section-one-exam shape Texas and Florida use, each split 80 scored plus 10 pretest questions in total.

Blueprint categories

Both exams, mapped from the Division of Insurance & Pearson VUE's own content outline.

Every category below comes from Pearson VUE's official Massachusetts Insurance Examination Content Outlines (#122301, effective July 22, 2026). Both exams' General Knowledge sections reuse the exact same national category ids and point weights as Texas's own outline — the life-side quarter (15/15/12/8) and health-side portion (16/15/6/5/8) of the same shared national template used across this project's other real-content states.

Why sourcing matters

Built from the Massachusetts General Laws and Pearson VUE's own materials, not guesses.

Every Massachusetts question in LicensePath is sourced from the Massachusetts General Laws (chapters 175, 176D and 175I) and the Code of Massachusetts Regulations, fetched directly from malegislature.gov and mass.gov, then cross-checked against Pearson VUE's official Massachusetts Insurance Examination Content Outlines before it's approved for release.

Curious how state exam blueprints are built, or why every practice question carries a citation? Two short guides cover both: what's actually on your state's insurance exam and why we cite every practice question.
